You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair. ~Douglas MacArthur
I loved their energy but not the destructiveness and self destructiveness that seemed to become part of rock for years afterwards. But I was a fan of their music. Ironic that I chose Nilsson last week when It was his flat in Mayfair where both Keith Moon and Cass Elliott died. Kass I was just starting the halftime show a bit early. I haven't seen the Who perform in years. I was surprised they were asked to do this. But In selecting clips I see that Roger, Pete and John are still putting out good product though it seems odd to hear near 70 year olds singing about teenage wastelands.
It's not at all surprising that the Who is performing. People who came of age post-Elvis now control the media, in fact , the entire establishment, and now sees teenage rebellion as a passing phase. Their own teenage rebellion, anyway.
Yep, that's my generation. What? Is the superbowl this week-end?
ReplyDeletei never much liked the who as a whole. like some songs, tho. tag, you managed to pick the ones!

I love the theme song for CSI (Las Vegas). It's worth watching the Super Bowl if the Who are going to be in the halftime show. Curiosity, I guess.
