Éirinn go Brách

St Patrick's Day Parade on Oceanview Saturday.
St. Patrick was a gentleman
Who through strategy and stealth
Drove all the snakes from Ireland,
Here's a toasting to his health;
But not too many toastings
Lest you lose yourself and then
Forget the good St. Patrick
And see all those snakes again!

  3. I'm not sure driving the snakes out was such a good idea. They keep the rodent population down. However, I'll forgive the Irish, as they invented Jameson's and Bushmill's, to name a couple of Irish whiskies worth having when one has a need to lament the number of "rodents of unusual size!"

  4. okatb-"driving the snakes out of ireland" is a euphemism for driving the pagans-hence, evil, hence snakes-out of ireland. just another form of religious fanaticism gone unchecked.

    aw, maybe i'm just jealous that there's no st. casimir's day-patron saint of poland!

  5. Standing, I nominate October 3rd as St Casimir's Day. I'm not doing anything anyway. Żubrówka Bison Grass Vodka and Żywiec Full Beer the alcohol of choice.

    Jameson's, Bushmill and Guinness. I will be seeing rodents of unusual size.

    Leslie Mr Spock Thanks you for thinking of him on this Vulcan Holiday.

    Green beer with Corned Beef and Cabbage. Tis a fair meal.

  6. i have so marked it on my calendar! i'll have to think about food choices. poland is not noted for haute cuisine. golabki comes close to corned beef and cabbage, and of course pierogi.
