Flavors of the Season Around my Neighborhood

The neighborhood has bloomed in a variety of scrumptious flavors. I took a walk with camera.
More flowers.

Looking out my window into my backyard I noticed these funny Icy Rasberry  They actually look like a pale blue violet though smaller, the head about the size of dime. There are thousands of these in the yard I hate mowing them so I don't

The the Purple Plum inhabit my kitchen. These are actually violets.

Strawberry Daquiri?  The combination of pink and banana. These Camelia are plentiful in a small variety of color. Mostly shades of pink.

I call these Peppermint Camelia.

Next up is the Buttermilk Camelia. Not as plentiful so they are unexpected when you do see them.

Butter Cream Jonquils, We see more of these in the past day or two. My little daffodils are fading away but the bigger  flowers are doing well.

And a large Cherry tree in my neighbors yard. These are ubiquitous along with the flowering Pear. These are hard to see against the sky.

All of these have bloomed over the last few days, spreading pollen and runny noses to everyone. I love the spring.

  3. Last week, we had spring-like weather here in Ohio, but the flowers knew better than to trust March in Cleveland, and wisely refrained from blooming. Good thing. It's cold and drizzly this week.

  4. Kass We had some hail close by yesterday. Of course I had to go out in it and get whacked in the noggin.

Kirk, Its my recollection that spring didn't happen until after Easter in Cleveland. I couldn't wait that long.

Les and Standing I like that it constantly changes from now 'til June. I'm starting to see buds on the roses, My neighbor took the gunny sacks off the lillys yesterday. In a few weeks fresh strawberries in my backyard and of course the Magnolias, Marigolds, Hydrangeas and Impatiens all very soon. And ants. I hate the freakin' ants.

  5. You might want to experience a climate so hot and dry it does not support fleas. No fleas in the Mojave. I wonder what that says about those of us who thrive here!
