Learn To Be Quiet

Franz Kafka

You need not do anything.
Remain sitting at your table and listen.
You need not even listen, just wait.
You need not even wait,
just learn to be quiet, still and solitary.
And the world will freely offer itself to you unmasked.
It has no choice, it will roll in ecstasy at your feet.

  1. Some of the best times I have at the beach are during the winter months when there is no one around and I do not hear any sounds made by humans.

Add a little rain falling and it exponentially better.

  2. Just the quiet lapping of the waves on shore the occasional cry of a gull. It is peaceful. I like to take a good bood and warm blanket.
